Our History

Founded in 1908, the Borough of Totowa Fire Department has been answering the call for over 110 years!

What began as a group of concerned and dedicated citizens has grown into a multi-station department equipped with modern apparatus – powered entirely by volunteers.

Fire trucks glow, music plays, and the streets come alive! Kick off the season with Totowa’s brightest night of the year — the Holiday Lights Parade, held every Saturday after Thanksgiving.

Keep an ear out for sirens and sleigh bells! Totowa Firefighters escort Santa Claus through town on a fire truck, spreading cheer, candy canes, and smiles to kids (and grown-ups!) of all ages.

Each year, our department kicks off a community-wide Fund Drive to support our mission. As a 100% volunteer fire department, your contributions go directly toward training, gear, and equipment that keep Totowa safe. When you receive your letter, please consider giving — every donation makes a real difference.
